Carriage is what "car" is short for. This title harkens back to a time when cars were a new and amazing invention. This track is one of my personal favorites. I even remember where I was when I first wrote it. It pretty much came out like this. It needed some lyrical adjustments, but it is interesting how much of it was there on the first time through. The lyrics reflect my experience of growing up in small towns as harder and harder times began to take hold -- a hold they still have.
